The Lasipalatsi Film and Media Centre has received grants from the
Urban Pilot project of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The Centre's early work, from 1998 through 2000, was partly funded by
the ERDF.
The aim of the Film and Media Centre is to be a showcase for the
information society and develop its own easily accessed service
concepts for the daily needs of the information age. Lasipalatsi is
also a meeting point and a modern market place in the heart of
Helsinki. During its first year, Lasipalatsi's customers numbered more
than two million and it scored some 1,2 million hits on its web page.
The City of Helsinki owns the Lasipalatsi Media Centre Ltd and
Eunet Finland is its partner, having made possible the data
communication links offered at the Centre.
